In the June 2016 issue of the quarterly UniPress magazine (produced by the University of Bern) the theme was on researching in networks. Perhaps I am a little biased when I say that EGSIEM is an excellent example of such research, as our network brings together researchers from different backgrounds (Geodesy, Hydrology, Crisis Management etc).
In the article, Prof. Adrian Jäggi (the project leader) described the background of the work being undertaken on EGSIEM, giving a broad overview of the information available to scientists from satellite earth observation, and introduces the aims of the project, all in non-technical language.
The last section of the article on EGSIEM is an interview with Dr. Ulrich Meyer who gives an insight into his interest in Caving, which offers a contrast with Satellite-based Geodesy – it is well worth reading – so long as you can read German!
Back in April (on one of the better days for weather in Bern this year) a photographer was dispatched to the Exakte Wissenschaft building, situated above the main rail station in Bern, to take some pictures of the team.

EGSIEM is also featured in the latest press release on Swiss-led EU projects by EUResearch (Link) - the Swiss network mandated by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation providing targeted information, hands-on advice and transnational partnering related to European research and innovation programmes.
