Just returning from this year’s AGU Fall Meeting in San Francisco - a week full of intensive conversations with lots of fellow scientists. The Moscone Conference Center is still big enough to host the big and quickly growing family of geoscientists in a very relaxed and productive atmosphere (relaxed at least if you did not try to get into Elon Musk’s keynote…). You walk through the aisles between oral sessions, poster sessions and the exhibition, and you run into the most interesting colleagues. You discuss news about projects, talk about the relevance of results or publications, and exchange thoughts about current developments and perspectives, e.g., for satellite missions. Sometimes it is just a couple of sentences, which give you a very dense and important feedback with new ideas and inspiration. It is also a chance to talk with representatives of funding agencies. Adrian gave a very instructive presentation about the status of EGSIEM. All in all, a very short week!
