The EGSIEM project has the potential to make a real difference to people in europe and around the world, but you can’t achieve anything worthwhile without generating a certain amount of paperwork.
Our blog has been a little quiet of late as the team have been busy preparing reports for the project funders (the European Union) who, quite rightly, would like to know how their (your,if you are reading this in Europe) money is being spent, and how the project is progressing. To assist us in the reporting tasks the EU set up a training event recently in Brussels (see photo) to introduce their online systems and to outline what is required. As a consortium we are held to account by the EU on a regular basis so it is only correct we try and present the mountains of information which are generated in the most efficient way possible, especially as Horizon2020 is a relatively new scheme.
It would be rather foolish of me to try and provide a summary of the project so far in a blog entry (for that I would encourage you to look out for the talks on EGSIEM being given at EGU2016), so I hope you will believe me when I say that significant progress has been made in the first year and as soon as we have some concrete news on the project EGSIEM.EU will be the first place to read about it!
